It’s been an interesting few weeks at work!

I was delighted to be invited to London by St. James’s Place for the Financial Adviser Academy graduation, where I joined peers from across the UK to recognise and celebrate all the hard work that has gone into qualifying as a Financial Adviser and setting up my own company.

The studying hasn’t stopped there, though. I’m pleased to say that I’ve now also passed CF8 – Long Term Care Insurance, the qualification required to provide advice in this important area.

Plenty more to learn, but it’s nice to take a moment to recognise the progress made so far.

Summer may be officially over, but what a great summer it’s been! ☀️ We’ve made some brilliant memories, enjoyed plenty of family time and, of course, fitted in our fair share of beach trips, adventures and airport runs.

With the kids finally back at school, it’s time to get back into a more familiar routine and start filling my diary with work meetings, projects and plans rather than holidays, soft play and days by the sea.

Looking forward to getting back to business, reconnecting with clients and colleagues, and making the most of the months ahead.

When the pressure is on, instinct isn’t always the best guide — in football or investing.

Listened to the meaningful money podcast on pension consolidation recently.

One of the main areas discussed was that many people don’t need more pensions… they need less complexity.

They discussed how consolidating old pension pots can help:
• Make things easier to manage
• Give a clearer picture of retirement savings
• Improve engagement and planning
• Potentially reduce unnecessary duplication

But it’s important to check for any valuable benefits before moving anything

Spent this week working alongside Vita Wellness and Allstate, where I delivered a presentation on the various ways people can save towards getting onto the property ladder and the fundamentals of how mortgages work. Over the following days, I held one‑to‑one sessions with several employees to review their current finances, discuss their aspirations, and explore practical steps to help them achieve their goals.
