AI can be useful - but it can also misunderstand tax deadline rules.

One issue HMRC has highlighted is incorrect advice around VAT deadlines that fall on weekends or bank holidays.

Some AI tools and websites may suggest you have until the next working day to file or pay. That isn’t the case.

Late filing or payment can lead to interest and penalties, so don’t rely on AI alone. Check the guidance, set reminders, and speak to your accountant if you’re unsure.

Big summer savings incoming ☀️

A temporary VAT cut from 20% to 5% has been announced for summer attractions, helping families make the most of the holidays without the extra cost.

Included in the scheme:
• Theme parks, fairs, zoos and museums
• Children’s cinema, concert, soft play and theatre tickets
• Children’s meals in restaurants and cafés

The changes apply across the UK from 25 June to 1 September.

Also announced: free bus travel for under-15s in England and lower costs on 100+ supermarket food products.
