What a brilliant opening night! 🎭🧁

A huge congratulations to Garstang Musical Productions on opening night of The Great British Bake Off Musical!

Who knew baking could be so dramatic? And thankfully, there wasn't a soggy bottom in sight… Paul Hollywood would have approved!

Liz and Rosa had a fantastic evening, with plenty of laughs, brilliant performances, great singing and enough cake to keep everyone happy. They also got to join the talented cast on stage for a photo.

We’ve had a very Happy visitor at T&G HQ.

Yes, Chief Happy Karen was here!

It was a chance for Chris, Chloe and Karen to catch up on what’s happening. We talked about the conversations our agricultural team are having with farming businesses, the new clients that are switching to us, plus all the self-assessment work already well under way. We also had chance to chat about tax planning, including some interesting conversations around gifting to the next generation.

A very productive morning, lots of ideas and a clear set of actions to get cracking with.

Always good to have the Chief Happy in the building.

Can there ever be too much chocolate? 🍫👀

That was the big question in David Whiteside’s kitchen this weekend!

After Shannon left the Bake Off tent last week, it was our Accounts Manager David's turn to get baking for The Great T&G Bake Off!

On the menu… Cadbury’s Heroes Cookie Bars 🍪🍫

David had a little help from his two-year-old weighing out the ingredients, although his assistant soon got bored and decided playing with cars was much more exciting.

David was a little concerned about just how much chocolate was going into the cookie mix… but surely there’s no such thing as too much chocolate, is there?

The rest of the T&G team certainly didn’t think so! David’s bake went down a treat, with plenty of thumbs up and approving head nods all round!

Two bakers down… who’s next to get their apron on and what delicious treats will we get to sample? 👀

We’re looking for a Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join the T&G team from January 2027.

This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll experience, or someone looking to develop their skills and build a career in payroll.

Previous experience is desirable, but not essential, full training will be provided.

We have our first T&G baker! 🍰

After Danni left the Bake Off tent last week during biscuit week, it was the turn of our Accounts Manager, Jill Nickson, to get into the kitchen.

There was just one problem… her oven thermostat doesn’t work. 😂

So rather than risking any soggy bottoms or burnt edges she decided to make tiffin. And not just any tiffin… her own version packed with pistachio, cherry, raisins, and cranberries.

And she didn’t stop there! She also made a ginger and dark chocolate tiffin for the no-nut fans in the office.

When we asked Jill why she wanted to take part in our T&G Bake Off she said, “I like cake and chocolate, so I’m guaranteed a nice cakey treat for the next 12 weeks!” 😋

And a little fun fact about Jill while we’re here…
She still uses THE SAME calculator she started work with in 1985, that’s 41 years ago! She’s always said she’ll retire when it finally packs in… but luckily for us, it’s still going strong. 😂
