If you’re self-employed or a director of a limited company, there’s not to much time left — just a little over two months to submit your Self Assessment tax return. The deadline is 31 January 2026. I’m reminding you now because every year it’s the same story — everyone wakes up in January with the stress, rush and panic. During that time, accounting offices are literally overloaded with clients, and finding an accountant at the last minute can be almost impossible. If you’re planning to switch to a new accountant, remember that HMRC requires authorisation, and this process takes a few days. Plus, the closer we get to the deadline, the longer it can take to receive the authorisation code by post. Do it now then, while there’s still enough time.
