Friday thoughts 💛
I’m technically still off work 😍
Although “off” seems to mean an hour here and there checking in with my team, dealing with anything that needs my attention and, of course, still sitting down on a Friday with my weekly planner!
I’ve got another 10 days before I’m properly back at my desk and I’m really appreciating the space.
Something I’ve been thinking about is how much energy ⚡️ my work actually takes.
The Life Planning work I do with clients can go pretty deep 💛
We talk about their lives, what matters to them, what they want more of, what they want to let go of, and sometimes the things that are getting in their way.
There’s so much joy and excitement in those conversations, but there’s also emotion 🤍
My job is to listen, ask the right questions, and hold that space while someone works through it.
And I love it.
But I’ve realised I need space to refill my own cup too.
This week reminded me of that…
Yesterday was GCSE results day 💕 and what an emotional day!
So incredibly proud of our girl, but results were only one part of it.
There’s now the next chapter: choosing A levels, wondering what she wants to do, and exploring all the emotions that come with not having all the answers yet.
And that’s okay.
As parents, sometimes our job isn’t to give them the answer. It’s to give them the space to work it out.
Maybe that’s why it felt so familiar to me ❤️
I’ve also kept up my training, spent time with family, and genuinely feel stronger and more energised than I have for a long time.
I think I’m finally finding a better balance between looking after other people and making sure I’m looking after myself too.
So another 10 days of this slower pace: family this weekend, more celebrations during Shravan (Hindu fasting month), training, a little work when I choose to, and plenty of space in between ✨
Turns out taking a month off was probably exactly what I needed 💛
Does this resonate with anyone else right now? Would love to hear your thoughts
Have a fab weekend x
