Meet Bailey, our kickboxing Payroll Executive, based in our Rugby office.

1️⃣ How long have you been at Magma?

I joined Magma as a trainee in February 2022. Magma have been very supportive, helping me achieve my CIPP qualification and welcoming me into the Magma family.

2️⃣ What do you enjoy most about being part of the Magma team?

The culture. Everyone is given the autonomy to manage their work independently but with support available at every step of the way. Our hybrid work solution promotes a greater work/life balance and there is an excellent team spirit across the organisation.

3️⃣ When you were growing up, what was your dream career?

I wanted to be a fashion designer. I had so many creative ideas, but my dreams were dashed when I realised that I’m not good at sewing!

4️⃣ Is there a ‘fun fact’ that not many people know about you?

I have a brown belt in Kickboxing 🥊.

5️⃣ Right now, what’s the first song 🎶 that comes into your head?

Unhealthy by Anne-Marie. My daughter is a massive fan and has been playing it on a loop since its recent release.

6️⃣ TV show 📺, movie 🎥 or book 📙? …and what is your favourite?

Movies, especially something with action and comedy - Deadpool

7️⃣ Can you think of one thing you would tell your 13-year-old self?

Stop caring so much about what other people think. You’re never going to please everyone so just be you and do what makes you happy.

In continuing our tour around the Magma offices, our next spotlight is on Audit & Accounts Manager, George Wake, based in Leicester.

1️⃣ How long have you been at Magma?

Over 6 years (with a short 3-week secondment, but we don’t mention that).

2️⃣ What do you enjoy most about being part of the Magma team?

Working at Magma offers the best of both worlds, you are given independence to run with work and take on the responsibility, however there is always the support there if you need it.

There’s a real sense of togetherness across both offices.

3️⃣ When you were growing up, what was your dream career?

Footballer, I still think I have a chance of making it.

4️⃣ Is there a ‘fun fact’ that not many people know about you?

I can play the trumpet 🎺 and got to grade 4 when I was younger.

5️⃣ Right now, what’s the first song 🎶 that comes into your head?

Billy Joel, Vienna. It’s up there as one of my favourite songs.

6️⃣ TV show 📺, movie 🎥 or book 📙? …and what is your favourite?

Movie, Big Fish. Not many people have seen it, but it’s definitely one to watch - just a feel-good film.

7️⃣ Can you think of one thing you would tell your 13-year-old self?

Don’t worry too much, life’s too short.

Oh, and buy a lot of bitcoin as soon as you are old enough and sell it at the end of 2021.

office.

1️⃣ How long have you been at Magma?

I have been at Magma since July 2017. I started as a trainee having recently graduated from Coventry University. I completed my professional training at Magma and moved my way up to Tax Manager within only four years, and I have now been with Magma for five and a half years.

2️⃣ What do you enjoy most about being part of the Magma team?

The people! The Private Client Tax team at Magma has a hard-working culture and every member of the team plays an important part. We support one another, both personally and professionally, and each member of the team genuinely believes in building up their colleagues so they can reach their full potential and exceed in their careers.

3️⃣ When you were growing up, what was your dream career?

This changed frequently growing up, ranging from a princess to what I do today!

4️⃣ Is there a ‘fun fact’ that not many people know about you?

I absolute love to plan parties, especially if they have a theme, and I’m very good at creating various balloon arrangements. 🎈 🎉

5️⃣ Right now, what’s the first song 🎶 that comes into your head?

Tom Odell – Grow Old With Me. My fiancé and I are currently in the middle of wedding planning and this is our first dance song.

6️⃣ TV show 📺, movie 🎥 or book 📙? …and what is your favourite?

Movies (with popcorn of course)! A classic, Dirty Dancing.

Be yourself, concentrate on your own journey and do what makes you happy.
