🚨 Scam Alert – Be Vigilant! 🚨
Today I intercepted a scam — and it’s one that could easily catch someone out.
Last week, I registered a limited company on behalf of a client via Companies House.
✅ Paid the relevant fee
✅ Received all the official documentation
✅ Job done
Then, a week later, a letter arrived — supposedly from Companies House — requesting additional payment to complete the registration.
Right away, I knew something was off:
The layout and language didn’t match Companies House comms
I had already received confirmation the company was registered
📞 I contacted Companies House and they confirmed this is a known scam. These fake letters are circulating, and sadly, people are falling for them.
⚠️ If you’re unfamiliar with the process, it’s easy to get caught out.
So here’s my advice:
🔍 If you receive a payment request you weren’t expecting:
1️⃣ Don’t pay immediately
2️⃣ Don’t use the contact info provided on the letter
3️⃣ Do use official contact details from the company’s website or verified past correspondence
Scammers are getting smarter — but so can we.
Stay alert. Double-check. Don’t be afraid to question what doesn’t feel right.
