📍 The date
📍 Postcodes travelled to & from
📍 A short description of the journey/purpose

HMRC are becoming stricter on estimated mileage claims without supporting records, so keeping track is more important than ever!

The good news? It doesn’t have to be complicated, there are plenty of free mileage tracking apps available, or even a simple spreadsheet can do the job ✔️

Once verified, you’ll receive a personal code used for certain Companies House filings.

If you’re self-employed or running a business, some travel costs are allowable, but not all of them so here’s a breakdown to help you make the most of your expenses.

As a general rule of thumb, if the travel is necessary because of your business, it’s most likely claimable.

If it’s part of your normal routine, it usually isn’t.
