📢 The first quarter of Making Tax Digital (MTD) has now ended!

The first reporting period (6 April 2026 – 5 July 2026) has now closed.

🗓️ Your quarterly update is due by 7th August 2026, so if you haven't already, now is the time to get your paperwork over to us.

Who does Making Tax Digital apply to?
If your total qualifying income is over £50,000, you may need to comply with MTD.

This includes combined income from:

✔️ Self-employment
✔️ UK property (rental income)
✔️ Employed earnings (if you also have another source of income)

It's your combined qualifying income that counts, not each income source individually.

There are no penalties for late quarterly updates this year while the new system is being introduced. However, penalties will apply from next year, so now is the perfect time to get into good habits and stay on top of your bookkeeping.

💎An End of an Era, and the Beginning of an Exciting New Chapter💎

Back in October, we shared the exciting news that Maria and Aaron had signed an agreement for Aaron to purchase Maria’s shareholding in Diamond Accounting. After a 9-month transition period, we can now officially confirm that as of Friday, the transaction has been completed and Maria has formally stepped away from the business.

While this marks the end of Maria’s journey at Diamond Accounting, it is impossible to let this moment pass without recognising the incredible impact she has had on the business, our team, and our clients over the years. Her dedication, passion, and commitment have helped shape Diamond Accounting into the business it is today, and for that we are incredibly grateful.

Transitions like these are never easy, but we are thankful to have had the opportunity to work alongside Maria throughout this process and to celebrate everything she has achieved. As she moves on to explore new opportunities and exciting ventures ahead, we wish her nothing but success, happiness, and fulfilment in this next chapter.

To Maria, thank you for your years of hard work, friendship, and contribution. Your influence will remain an important part of Diamond Accounting’s story, and you will always be a valued part of its history.

After collecting an incredible 283 Easter eggs, we wanted to share exactly where your generosity made an impact 💛

Your donations were distributed across:

✨ Two residential children’s homes
✨ Two Supported Living homes — helping young people build independence and confidence within their community
✨ Fair Ways schools
✨ A Contact Centre — supporting families in rebuilding relationships in a safe, nurturing space

Fairways also had a small number of eggs remaining, which were donated to Friends Fighting Cancer in support of their Food in the Community Project — meaning nothing went to waste, and even more people felt the impact of your kindness 🍫
