We’ve had a few clients asking about the new 22% tax charge announced as part of the ISA reforms, and there’s been some confusion about what it actually means.

The 22% tax charge only applies to interest earned on cash held within a non-Cash ISA, such as a Stocks & Shares ISA. It doesn’t apply to your investments capital growth, or dividends 📈 only to any interest generated from a cash fund (such as a money market fund) .

If you already have a Stocks & Shares ISA with us which is invested this won’t affect you. This is because your money is invested & any cash is only held temporarily while it’s waiting to be invested.

The aim of the change is to discourage people from using a Stocks & Shares ISA as a long-term cash savings account instead of a Cash ISA.

If you’ve seen the headlines and you’re unsure whether it affects you, don’t worry - we’re always happy to explain what it means for your account 😊

❕JARGON BUSTER ❕

Volatility just means how much investments go up and down.

It’s often seen as a bad thing… but it’s actually normal.

Markets don’t move in straight lines.

The key isn’t avoiding volatility - it’s understanding it.

Enjoy now or save for later? 💭

It’s a question many of us think about at some point - do you make the most of your money today, or focus on building for the future? 💸

The truth is it doesn’t have to be one or the other.

For some, it’s about enjoying life experiences now. For others it’s about planning ahead and building long-term security. Most people sit somewhere in the middle and that balance can look differently depending on your goals, lifestyle and priorities 🏡📊

Having a clear plan can help you feel confident doing both - enjoying today while still preparing for tomorrow. 📅

Where do you sit – spender, saver or somewhere in between ❔

It’s more common than you think to have multiple pension pots built up from different jobs throughout the years and they’re often forgotten about 🤔

While that might not seem like a big issue, it can make it harder to keep track of your retirement savings, understand what you’ve built up, or see if everything is working as efficiently as it could be 📊

Taking a closer look at your pensions can help bring everything into one clear picture and make planning for the future simpler 🔍

If you’re not sure how many you have, it could be worth checking.

Not everything in finance needs to be complicated 💭💸

Here are 3 simple things you can do with your money this month:

🔍 Review
Take 10 minutes to check where your money actually went last month – small patterns add up quickly.
➕ Top Up
Whether it’s your pension, savings, or investments, even a small extra contribution can make a difference over time.
🛡️ Protect
Check what safety nets you have in place – from emergency savings to cover if life takes an unexpected turn.

Just small consistent actions that can help keep you moving in the right direction 📈

Most people don’t regret what they did with money. They regret what they didn’t do.

Over the years, we’ve heard these quite a lot:

⏳ “I wish I started my pension sooner”
🛡️ “I didn’t think protection would matter… until it did”
📈 “I kept waiting for the ‘right time’ to invest”

Individually, they seem small. But over time, they can have a big impact on financial security 🔐

The difference usually comes down to one thing: starting sooner rather than later.

What’s one thing you’ve been meaning to get around to financially? 💰

Plan for the unexpected or deal with it when it happens? 🤔

The problem isn’t that people ignore the risk, it’s that it doesn’t feel urgent until it suddenly is.

Most financial gaps don’t show themselves day to day - they only become obvious when something changes. And by then, the options you have can feel a lot more limited 📉

Planning ahead isn’t about expecting problems. It’s about giving yourself breathing room if they ever do happen. The best time to put a plan in place is always before you need it.

This is one of the most common - and costly - misconceptions ⚠️💸

Financial advice isn’t about how much you have - it’s about what you do with it.

The earlier you get guidance, the more options you have: Small decisions now can have a big impact later and having a plan in place removes a lot of uncertainty 📈

Waiting until you feel ‘ready’ or ‘wealthy enough’ often means missing out on years of progress.

Good advice helps you build, not just protect your wealth and if you’ve ever thought ‘I’m not ready yet’ - that’s usually when it matters most 💡
