Do you pay your Self Assessment tax through Payments on Account?
If so, here's a reminder that your second Payment on Account is due by 31st July.
These payments are based on your previous year's tax bill, so they don't always reflect your current circumstances. If your income or profits are expected to be lower this year, you may be able to reduce the amount you need to pay.
It's also worth remembering that HMRC currently charges late payment interest at 7.75%, so it's important not to leave it until after the deadline.
Not everyone who completes a Self Assessment tax return makes Payments on Account, so if you're unsure whether this applies to you - contact us today.
