No.1: Cash Runway

Cash runway is the single most important metric for any pre-profit startup 💷⏳ It tells you how many months you can keep operating at your current burn rate before cash runs out—so it should be front of mind at every leadership meeting.

Quick calc: Cash balance ÷ average monthly net burn (cash out minus cash in). Example: £120,000 in the bank and £15,000 net burn = 8 months runway. That’s your deadline to raise, reach profitability, or cut costs.

Investors often want 12 months minimum comfort, 18 months is healthy ✅ Anything under 6 months needs immediate action 🚨 And update it weekly—every cash movement changes it.
