Congratulations, Daniel! 🥳

A huge congratulations to Daniel Key, who has now successfully completed his AAT Level 4 qualification!

Daniel joined WBV as an Accounts Trainee, and his role has given him the opportunity to put his studies into practice and build on his knowledge through real-world experience.

💬 Daniel says:

“I’m overjoyed to have completed AAT Level 4. Having started Levels 2 and 3 pre-Covid and struggling to grasp the content outside of a job in accounts, I’m elated at how much more I was able to absorb and relate to the exams thanks to the opportunity of an Accounts role within WBV. I look forward to the challenge ACCA poses and to becoming Chartered.”

A fantastic achievement, Daniel... congratulations on becoming AAT qualified! 👏

Next stop: ACCA and Chartered status. 📚🎓

We’re delighted to welcome Carys Hardy to the WBV team as a permanent member of staff.

Champions! What a weekend for Neath Cricket Club! 🏏

We’re delighted to be supporting Neath Cricket Club and celebrating their fantastic success.

The 1st XI were crowned league champions after a brilliant 6-wicket victory, while the 2nd XI also secured an impressive 7-wicket win. The 3rd XI unfortunately went down to a 9-wicket defeat against Baglan, but it was still a fantastic weekend for the club with two senior wins and a league title secured! 🏆

A fantastic achievement for the players, coaches and everyone involved with the club. Congratulations to all! 👏

We’re proud to be sponsors of Neath Cricket Club and look forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings.

Congratulations, Neath! 🏆

📢 HMRC MTD: Are you ready for the next stage?

More than 570,000 taxpayers have now signed up for Making Tax Digital (MTD), with 436,000 successfully submitting their first quarterly update.

HMRC estimates that around 864,000 taxpayers should be registered, meaning there are still many who need to take action.

The good news is that if you were required to submit your first quarterly update but haven’t done so yet, you can still submit it now without receiving a penalty for late submission during this first year.

However, HMRC is taking further action. From September, HMRC plans to start signing up the remaining taxpayers in stages.

If HMRC signs you up, you’ll receive a letter or digital message explaining what this means and what you need to do next. You’ll also be asked to check your Personal Tax Account and confirm that HMRC’s records are up to date.

This is important if your circumstances have changed... for example, if you’re no longer running a business or believe you may be eligible for an exemption.

👉 Don’t wait for HMRC to contact you. If you think you may be affected by MTD, or you’re unsure whether you’re required to sign up, speak to the WBV team today. We can help you understand your obligations and make sure you’re prepared.

Do you know what it really costs to employ someone?

Salary is only part of the picture.

Employer National Insurance, pension contributions, holiday pay, recruitment costs and training all contribute to the true cost of employment.

Understanding those costs is becoming increasingly important as businesses look to protect their margins.
