Last weekend was a day of joy, excitement and fun! As our ACM community team joined the St Margaret's Somerset Hospice Colour Run as volunteers manning the bar. Hues of all colours were sprinkled over the eager runners who completed the run in style – there were even three inflatable flamingos! Talk about dedication! Read all about the event on our website.

With Making Tax Digital for Income Tax launching this month, it’s a timely moment for us at A C Mole to reflect on how far we’ve come in supporting clients through technological change.

Our journey in digital tax began early. In April 1997, under our previous name A C Mole & Sons, we filed the UK’s first electronic tax return, signalling the beginning of a new era in accountancy.

This milestone marked the start of a long-standing commitment to innovation. We continued to lead the way in 2001 by becoming the first firm to use HM Revenue & Customs’ Internet Filing Service, contributing to the foundations of today’s digital tax system.

Now, as Making Tax Digital expands from April 2026, the profession is evolving once again. From pioneering electronic filing in 1997 to supporting real-time digital reporting today, our focus remains the same, helping clients navigate change with clarity, confidence, and efficiency.
