Wildlife Wednesday | Part 3 🦊

Matt's resident fox is back!

In the latest instalment of our Wildlife Wednesday series, Matt Surmacz, Building Services Facilities Engineer, captured this daytime footage of one of his regular four-legged visitors exploring his garden.

Moments during and after this clip ends, the fox wandered over for a well-earned drink of water — a timely reminder of just how important even the simplest resources become during periods of hot weather.

As temperatures remain high across the UK, wildlife can find it increasingly difficult to access fresh water. Whether it's leaving out a shallow bowl of clean water, creating a wildlife-friendly garden, or simply allowing nature to thrive in our green spaces, small actions can make a meaningful difference to the birds, mammals and insects that share our environment.

At Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL), we're fortunate to work on a site where biodiversity continues to flourish, and it's always a pleasure to witness these moments occurring (and being inspired) at our employees' homes too!

'Ricoh earns place on TIME World's Most Sustainable Companies 2026 list for third consecutive year'

For the 2026 list, more than 5,800 companies across 43 countries and 20 industries were assessed, with 750 companies selected worldwide.

💚 Wellbeing Wednesday 💚

Last week, Andrew Benning, Assistant Manager – Health & Safety, and Kate Dovey, Senior HR Officer, represented Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL) at the Confederation of Paper Industries - CPI Biennial Health and Safety Conference, where they hosted a breakout session showcasing our wellbeing journey.

At RPL, employee wellbeing is a key priority and a central part of our foundational strategy. Our Wellbeing Charter sets out the Company's commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of employees, outlining the roles and responsibilities of key functions and specialists, as well as the resources available to help employees maintain and improve their wellbeing.

Andy and Kate shared our wellbeing journey with industry professionals, showcasing the initiatives that have helped shape our positive wellbeing culture. It provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss lessons learned, and reflect on our progress from the beginning of our journey.

With many organisations across the paper industry embarking on similar wellbeing initiatives, the event also enabled us to contribute to the wider conversation around creating healthier, more supportive workplaces for all.

A huge thank you to Andy and Kate for representing Ricoh UK Products Ltd and sharing our wellbeing journey with industry peers.

It's that time again... This week, we're shining a spotlight on how Ricoh UK Products Ltd's (RPL) onsite wildlife cameras are inspiring our employees to discover the biodiversity around them.

Matt Surmacz, Building Services Facilities Engineer, has shared some fantastic footage captured in his own back garden, featuring visits from a curious squirrel, roaming foxes and hungry badgers! It's amazing what you can spot when you take a moment to look.

Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL) has implemented an advanced energy management system at its Telford manufacturing site, enhancing visibility of energy use and supporting further progress towards its net-zero 2030 ambition.

Delivered in partnership with SolarEdge Technologies Inc., the Hark energy management platform provides real-time insight into energy consumption across the site, enabling faster, data-driven decision-making to reduce waste, improve operational efficiency, and lower carbon emissions.

Last year, many of you enjoyed following our Wildlife Wednesday posts, where we showcased the incredible diversity of wildlife thriving across our 50+ acre site here in Telford at Ricoh UK Products Ltd and Ricoh Printing Solutions Europe Ltd.

Over the past month, we've been excited to restart our wildlife cameras and check in on our busy beehives, giving us another glimpse into the rich ecosystem that surrounds our manufacturing facility.
