Not only have we celebrated a birthday this week (Happy birthday Nicola!), but we are also celebrating National Apprenticeship week.

Apprenticeships are a fantastic way of gaining training across a huge range of sectors including accountancy. We should know, we have two on the apprenticeship scheme now – one is near the end of her first level and the other is just starting out.

So a huge shout out to all the apprentices out there and the businesses taking part in this rewarding scheme.

Around 1.1m people are facing a penalty of at least £100 for missing the self assessment deadline of 31 January.

According to HMRC, more than 11.5m returns were submitted but unless you have a valid reason, if you’re in the 1.1m who missed the deadline then a penalty letter will be on the way.

If you are struggling to get your tax return done, do get in touch and we can see if we can help. But don’t delay, penalties increase to £10 a day after 3 months.

Thousands of people left it to the last minute before the cut-off at the end of Friday.

Please extend a warm welcome to Trulie who has joined the team at Envision Partnership.

Trulie joined us at the beginning of September after completing a degree in Economics and Finance at Greenwich University.

Even though she has only been with us for six weeks, she has already become a valued member of the team. She approaches every task with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, willingly taking on new challenges without any hesitation.

In January she will start studying for the Chartered Accountancy qualification and we have no doubt she has a bright future ahead of her.
