I saw a post on LinkedIn by recently describing a coworking space as “sensory hell” and it really made me think.

Because coworking is human. It is chatty sometimes. It is collaborative sometimes. It is full of real people with real calls, conversations, needs and energy.

But I also know that not everyone works in the same way.

Some people thrive in the buzz. Some need quiet. Some want company but not conversation. Some days we can cope with noise (hell, some days we are the noise), and other days our nervous system says absolutely not.

I don’t think it’s possible to design one space that perfectly meets everyone’s needs all the time.
But I do think we can do better when we know what those needs are.

So I’m thinking about how I can make it much clearer at The Tribe what your options are if the coworking room feels too noisy, too chatty or too much.

What rooms you can use.
When you need to book.
What is included.
What needs to be paid for.
How to signal that you’re focusing.
How we make the space feel workable for as many brains as possible.

Because I never want anyone to feel trapped in sensory hell when there may be another option available.

So I’d genuinely love to know what helps you feel comfortable, focused and safe in a shared workspace?

Are you familiar with the pain of living a half-expressed life?

When the discomfort of living a half-expressed life becomes too unbearable, there are 2 options.

1. Do nothing. Stay living half-expressed. Change nothing and continue in the discomfort.

2. Make a decision to choose a different life. One that allows you to live fully-expressed regardless of the outcome, regardless of the risk.

Two beautiful mornings of learning, reflection and deeper connection are coming to The Tribe with Sharon Nelson.

If you’re craving space to reconnect with your inner knowing, trust yourself more deeply, or explore your intuition in a warm and creative environment, Sharon’s Intuitive Development workshop on Saturday 30th May could be exactly what you need.

And if you work in wellbeing, care for others, hold space for people, or want to support others without slipping into rescuing, Sharon’s Introduction to Person-Centred Coaching workshop on Tuesday 9th June will help you develop powerful listening and questioning skills that empower the person in front of you.

Both workshops will be held here at The Tribe from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

Each workshop is £45, or you can book both for the discounted price of £80. Materials and light refreshments are included.

Commit to you - Gate 4!!!

Commitment is what you’re faced with when the decision fades away, when you wake up the next morning and the, “oh s**t, now I actually have to do it,” barges into your face.

It’s the unattractive, non-instantaneous commitment to yourself. Yes, you - you are the one who holds the power, and hey, you’ve already made the decision so…..what’s next? What are YOU going to do now on this rainy Monday morning with no audience to universally cheer you on? Yup, it can be that tough some days, but it doesn’t have to be…

Continuing with you, choosing you, investing in you, because you believe you have something to offer to yourself, and the world. This is your drive and so now is the time to get specific, get damn honest and do something with your pre-existing gifts and that burning to be released into commitment.

And that dear reader, that is joy, that is rewarding, that is empowering, that is your life, and no, it’s not instant (please someone tell what is, other than really bad coffee)….the commitment to yourself needs you to keep being the leader, you are the identity, shifting through uncertainty, embarrassment, no immediate validation, slow responses and all the s**t in between.

You are operating from identity and shifting yourself.

This is it - the commitment.
If you don’t, then what? (Honestly, tell me)

It’s time to sustain your relationship, sustain your decision and move into self commitment.

You know when you’re pivoting from fear and pivoting from wisdom.
