🚨 Charities, regulators and sector bodies have long called for charity financial reporting thresholds to be updated to reflect inflation and rising compliance costs.

Following consultation, DCMS has confirmed changes to the financial thresholds for charities in England and Wales. These updates affect when an independent examination or audit is required, and the type of accounts charities can prepare.

While many charities may see no change, others could benefit from greater flexibility or reduced regulatory burden in future years.

🚨Important update to the changes to inheritance tax, Business Property Relief and Agricultural Property Relief

The previously proposed £1m cap on 100% Business Property Relief and Agricultural Property Relief has now been significantly increased to £2.5m. For many, this reduces or removes immediate inheritance tax exposure on qualifying assets. However, while this change is clearly welcome, there remain important planning considerations.
