Keys collected 🗝️ Coffees secured ☕ Next chapter, new space! 🍊

Introducing The Annexe, our first satellite space, tucked close to the coast (and closer to home for a few of our Whyfielders), with room for up to four of us to focus.

This little space is the beginning of something we’re really excited about… more of these!

We plan to dot a collection of spaces around Cornwall, offering shorter journeys, less fuel consumed, quiet spaces, yet still connecting the team and giving them everything they need to do their work.

We’ve always believed that great work doesn’t have to look one way. We’ve been a four-day week practice for over four years, and we support working from home when life calls for it. And now, this space (soon to be spaces 🤞) adds another dimension.

So, here’s a cheesy little behind-the-scenes, ‘day in the life’ style where we introduce you to the calm little space that we’re also calling home, alongside Whyfield HQ in Threemilestone. With thanks to Laura and Rox for spending their evenings getting this space ready, and tackling the flat-pack furniture together! Not for the faint of heart 😅

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team 🥰
And yes, it comes with our famous four-day week.
Think bank holiday weekend, every weekend! (Or a mid-week rest, we love those too!)

We want to hear from a brilliant someone who:
⭐ Has a least two years’ experience in an accountancy practice
⭐ Loves talking to clients and building relationships
⭐ Is proactive, positive, and a genuine team player
(And lots of other goodness, of course, but more on that in the full job description).

This is a permanent role, but we’re open to part-time, too.

Meet Megan, our Head of Brand!

Megan is the creative behind everything you see from Whyfield: words, imagery, video! If it looks good and sounds like us, there’s a good chance it was her doing (with brand foundations created by the outstanding team at Friends)

What she does:
✔️ Bringing the Whyfield brand to life
✔️ Marketing metrics
✔️ Doing her best to make accounting make sense!

When she’s out of the office (Mondays, thanks to Whyfield’s 4-day work week), you’ll find her:
🌲 On a woodland walk
🛍️ Thrifting (a fancy term for riffling through charity shops and antiquing, usually for a cutesy trinkets)
🏊 Sea swimming
✏️ Doodling
📚 Working through the ever-growing reading pile, watchlist, and travel plans simultaneously

2026 goal: Become a more confident Spanish speaker… which is becoming increasingly urgent, because she’s just secured tickets to see Bad Bunny at the end of June with Charlie! Así que mejor ponerse a practicar🐰🎶

She’s a masterful multitasker, splitting her time between bookkeeping and payroll, and bringing the same level of calm expertise to both.

What she does:
✔️ Bookkeeping

✔️ Tirelessly trying to convince the office to play Kerrang Radio

Introducing Cherie, our Payroll Technician, and mother of our thriving office plants 🪴

Cherie keeps the payroll running like clockwork for over 150 companies, handling everything from pensions and holiday, to statutory leave, as well as keeping her finger on the pulse to make sure all numbers and processes are up to date. And, she still make sure that the office plants are hydrated each week, which in itself is no mean feat.

A bit more about Cherie

What she does:

✔️ Payroll, payroll, payroll

✔️ Ordering many packages to the office!

Don’t ask her about:

✖️ Accounting or bookkeeping… that’s someone else’s department! She has enough numbers to focus on 😅

Nobody tells you this about Marriage Allowance... ⬇️

Once you claim it, HMRC keeps it rolling automatically, every year, without checking if you're still eligible.

If your income or relationship status has changed and you haven't cancelled, you could be building up a tax bill without realising it.

You need to cancel your claim if:
➡️ The lower earner now earns over £12,570
➡️ The higher earner has moved into the higher rate tax band
➡️ You've separated, divorced, or been widowed

The fix is usually simple, but the longer you leave it, the more could be owing.

From the very first enquiry through to being fully onboarded, Amethyst is the gal guiding new clients into Whyfield! She’s also the one brave enough to sit on hold with HMRC, something Niamh is now helping her with. True heroes!

✔️ A port of call for our clients, both new and existing
✔️ All things HMRC
✔️ General office support
