Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Location: Tyldesley, Manchester, UK
We are a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Tyldesley with a large portfolio of clients, spanning most trades and includes sole traders / partnerships / limited companies. Our services include annual accounts, payroll, VAT, CIS, bookkeeping, computer support, management accounts etc. We are a busy friendly office and the position offers a varied workload which will provide the successful candidate with valuable experience in a commercial accounting environment.

Duties to include -
- Analysing clients records
- Dealing with client queries by telephone and email
- Updating computer records
- Bank and cash reconciliations
- Maintaining purchase & sales ledgers
- Dealing with HMRC returns & queries
- Supporting other team members

Candidate requirements -
We are looking for a responsible and enthusiastic individual who will complement our existing team and contribute to future growth.
- Previous experience in an administrative role essential
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office (esp Excel & Word)
- A background in an accounts role an advantage though not essential as full training will be provided
- GCSEs or equivalent in English & Maths

Other
- This is an office-based permanent position which has arisen due to continued growth
- Hours Mon-Thurs (8.30am to 4.30pm), Fri 8.30am – 1.30pm (these are maximum hours available, will consider reduced hours)
- Holidays 4 weeks plus statutory
- Pay is negotiable due to experience

CIS, Do You Qualify?

Construction Industry Scheme. People who work in construction are likely to be familiar with this already. It is where a Contractor (like an employer) will deduct a percentage of a Subcontractors invoice (like an employee) and send this to HMRC. The deduction contributes towards the Subcontractors Tax and National Insurance.
