Are you a company director? There is a small but important change to your Self Assessment return this year that could catch you out📌

New boxes on the 2025/26 employment page will ask for details of any close company you are a director of, including the company name, registration number, dividends received, and your highest shareholding percentage during the year.

Missing this information can result in a penalty, so it pays to have your records organised well before the deadline.

With HMRC paying closer attention to close company dividends, it is also worth double checking that your dividend procedures are properly documented and compliant. We would rather help you get this right now than scramble in January. 😊
