For over 5 years, GINA has been supporting women subjected to sexual violence & abuse in Birmingham & beyond.

GINA was established after Lisa Thompson, GINA’s Founder & CEO of sister charity RSVP, discovered that her much loved grandmother, Nana Gina, was r***d as a teenager & had kept this secret for nearly 70 years, only disclosing shortly before she died. Lisa named GINA after her Nana to leave a positive legacy for her & for other women like her. Lisa vowed that GINA would create opportunities for women subjected to sexual violence & abuse to Grow, Inspire, Nurture & Achieve.

GINA is RSVP (West Midlands) Limited sister organisation, offering immediate specialist low-cost counselling, bespoke resources & volunteering opportunities for women subjected to sexual violence & abuse. GINA aims to reinvest surplus into RSVP, helping to reduce waiting times and ensure more survivors in our Birmingham community can access free, specialist support when they need it most.

GINA continues in their mission to ensure their corner of the world revolves with hope & compassion for women subjected to sexual trauma, violence & abuse.

Are your retirement plans based on dreams—or real numbers?

One in five retirees surveyed said managing the cost of retirement was harder than expected. The biggest thing they wished they had understood sooner was how much they needed to save.

The latest Retirement Living Standards estimate that one person may need:

* £13,900 a year for a minimum lifestyle
* £32,700 for a moderate lifestyle
* £45,400 for a comfortable lifestyle

These figures exclude housing costs, and everyone’s circumstances will be different.

Also, keep an eye out for HMRC Simple Assessment letters. If your letter for the 2025/26 tax year arrives before 31 October 2026, payment will normally be due by 31 January 2027.
