HMRC announcement 📣
Big news if you drive for work. 🚗
The Chancellor just announced the HMRC mileage rate is going up by 10p per mile, backdated to 6 April 2026.
That’s 55p per mile for your first 10,000 business miles. The old rate of 45p had been frozen since 2011, so this is long overdue.
If you’re a company director or your employer reimburses you for business travel, this is worth paying attention to.
The amount is tax deductible off your company profits, and not included in your personal tax. This is a tax free reimbursement 👏
Make sure you’re tracking your miles and claiming the right amount.
