HMRC will have sent you a letter if you are affected, but if your income from self assessment and/or property was over £50,000 last year.

Don’t get caught out on this one. If you sell a property that isn’t your main residence then if you made money from it, it’s a capital gain and has its own special rules.

Dividends can only be taken from profit.

Let’s say that again. You need profits to take dividends.

If you don’t check this and rely on your bank balance then you risk having an overdrawn directors loan account that will be taxed at 35.75% and added to your Corporation Tax bill.
