Companies House has confirmed that upcoming accounts filing reforms will now take effect from April 2028, giving businesses additional time to prepare.

The changes will introduce mandatory digital filing, require small companies to file profit and loss accounts, and remove abridged accounts — marking a significant shift in reporting requirements.

While the delay offers breathing space, it’s important to start reviewing your processes, systems and reporting approach now.
