The 30-Day Rule for Capital Gains Tax 📊
If you sell shares or investments and buy the same (or very similar) ones again within 30 days, HMRC can “re-match” the transactions.
That means your Capital Gains Tax calculation may change, and your tax bill could be higher (or lower) than expected.
📌 It mainly applies to shares and securities, and often catches investors out.
If you’re trading investments regularly, it’s worth checking the timing before you buy back in. Get in touch with the team to find out more: https://vantage-accounting.co.uk/
