What would happen if you couldn’t make important decisions for yourself?
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to choose someone you trust to make certain decisions on your behalf if you’re unable to do so yourself.
There are two types:
💙 Health and Welfare – covering things such as care, medical treatment and your daily routine.
💷 Property and Financial Affairs – covering things such as bank accounts, bills, pensions and other financial matters.
An LPA isn’t about giving up control.
It’s about choosing who you would want to step in if life took an unexpected turn.
You need to have mental capacity when making an LPA, so understanding how they work before you need one can be helpful.
Nothing in this post should be taken as advice.
