Most profit leaks aren’t big. They’re “small extras” that never get billed.

If you sell projects or retainers, tighten three things:
• What’s included (in plain English)
• What counts as a change (examples, not vague wording)
• Who approves changes before the work happens
You can be great at delivery and still lose money if scope is loose.

If you want me to help you spot where scope creep is showing up in your numbers, book a free call, the link is in my bio.

Cashflow doesn’t improve because you “try harder”. It improves because you collect on time.

A debtor rhythm that works without drama:
• Invoice the same day delivery is complete
• Confirm the payment date in writing
• Chase weekly, same day/time, owned by one person
Consistency keeps it professional. It also protects relationships because it is a process.

If you want a debtor workflow you can hand to a team member and trust, book a free call, the link is in my bio.

Good bookkeeping isn’t something your admin assistant can do. Sure, they can chase the paperwork but good bookkeeping means numbers you can make decisions from.

In practice, that means:
• Bank reconciled weekly (so cash isn’t a mystery)
• Clear coding rules (so reporting isn’t random)
• A month-end close that happens on a date, not “when we get time”
If your figures arrive late, you end up managing on instinct. That gets expensive once the team grows.

If you want your books to become decision-grade without adding workload, book a free call, the link is in my bio.

Turnover can go up while profit goes down.

Three reasons it happens in growing businesses:
• You sell more low-margin work (or discount more often)
• Delivery costs rise and prices don’t move with them
• Overheads creep in small monthly chunks
A simple check: compare gross margin % this month vs the same month last year. If it’s down, you don’t have a sales problem. You have a margin problem.

If you want me to look at your last few months and show you where margin is slipping (and what I’d fix first), book a free call, the link is in my bio.

If month-end is late, everything decision is more difficult in your business.

A clean close comes down to discipline:
• Weekly reconciliations
• Cut-off dates for invoices, receipts, approvals
• A short commentary: what changed and what needs action
• The goal is speed with accuracy. Not perfection.
If you want a month-end close process your team can run without you chasing, book a call, the link is in my bio.

Your month-end routine is what turns bookkeeping into business clarity.

Most issues in a business can be traced back to one thing:
Late or unclear numbers.

A strong month-end process gives you:
– Timely insight
– Clear decisions
– Less stress

Speed and consistency matter more than perfection.

If your month-end feels messy, message me “CLOSE”

Forecasting doesn’t need a monster model. It takes a handful of key numbers.

A practical 8-week view is usually enough to regain control:
• Expected cash in (by date, not hope)
• Fixed commitments (payroll, VAT/tax, key suppliers)
• Known one-offs (equipment, annual renewals)
When you can see the pinch points early, you can act early: chase, renegotiate, pause spend, adjust plans.

Long weekends are where cash slips: invoicing delayed, chasing paused, and supplier payments still go out.

Before you switch off, do three things:
• Send any invoices you’re sitting on
• Chase anything due this week (politely, but firmly)
• Check next week’s outgoings: payroll, suppliers, tax/VAT
This takes 20 minutes and saves a week of stress.

If you want a bank-holiday-proof cash routine, book a call, the link is in my bio.

Most finance pain is rework: fixing the same issues every month.

A few process upgrades remove most of it:
• One way to capture receipts (at source)
• Clear approvals (what needs sign-off, what doesn’t)
• Standard coding rules for common spend
• A close checklist that’s followed every time
Less rework means faster close, better numbers, and fewer interruptions for you.
