We receive 4–5 emails EVERY DAY offering to prepare our clients’ tax returns and accounts overseas for ridiculously low prices.

Sometimes as little as £7 a tax return.

We say NO. Every. Single. Time.

Why?

Because I’ve seen things that I simply can’t ignore. I’ve seen photographs of overseas accountancy operations that, in my personal opinion, resemble sweatshop conditions. I looked at them and made a decision that I never wanted our business to be part of that model.

I also see the aftermath.

I can usually tell within minutes when I take on a new client if their work has been outsourced.

The mistakes.
The lack of understanding.
The unanswered questions.
The endless back-and-forth because the person on the phone isn’t the person who prepared the work.

For medical aesthetic clinics, it simply doesn’t work.

This industry isn’t generic. It requires specialist knowledge of VAT, medical versus cosmetic treatments, patient finance, stock and how clinics actually operate.

We’ve made a conscious decision that we will never offshore our professional work.

Every set of accounts, VAT return, payroll, bookkeeping record and tax return is completed by our UK-based team.

Yes, it costs us more.

Yes, we’d probably make more profit if we outsourced.

But not everything should be driven by profit.

We’ve even written it into our Letter of Engagement.

June and July.

The end of the first half of 2026, and the beginning of the second.

I wont lie, it’s been bittersweet.

The yin and yang of success.

Professionally, we’ve had one of our busiest and most exciting periods. Workshops, speaking events, growth, new opportunities and plans that I’ve dreamed about for years are finally becoming a reality.

Personally, I lost somebody who mattered dearly to me.

Somebody I didn’t get to see often because life took us in different directions, but who was always on my mind.

And with that comes so much regret. The would haves, should haves and could haves. The messages I should have sent. The time I thought we would still have.

But life didn’t stop.

I still had to get on stage. I still had to lead my team. I still had to make decisions. I still had to parent. I still had to show up for my clients, my family and the people who rely on me.

Behind every smile, every presentation and every social media post, there was grief. A gut wrenching sadness.

Nothing got 100% of me. Not my business. Not my children. Not even myself.

But that is the reality of life sometimes. Success and heartbreak do not always take turns. Sometimes they arrive together.

These last two months have reminded me that resilience is not pretending everything is okay. Sometimes it is simply continuing to move forward while carrying something that feels impossible.

As I begin the second half of 2026, I am carrying both gratitude and grief. The pain of losing somebody who meant so much to me, and the excitement of building something I truly believe in.
