In the first half of 2026, BDO successfully assisted a wide spectrum of companies in seeking primary or secondary listings in Hong Kong, including A+H and H share companies from Chinese Mainland, as well as companies from Indonesia and Malaysia. This reflects our commitment to supporting clients across regions and sectors on their listing journey.

2025 is widely seen as a turning point for Hong Kong’s IPO market, but the real surge only began in the second half of 2025. That was when A+H IPOs became the dominant force driving capital raising in the city and have since consistently accounted for more than 50% of total IPO fundraising in Hong Kong. This IPO wave has also captured the attention of AI and high-technology companies, and even some overseas companies are now actively exploring Hong Kong listings. As of 30 June 2026, 85 companies had successfully listed in Hong Kong, raising approximately HK$210 billion in total.

Andrew Lam, Managing Director of BDO Hong Kong expects this momentum to continue through the second half of 2026 and into 2027, as listings of several top-notch A-share companies that submitted applications last year begin to crystallise. This positive market sentiment is further underpinned by a steady pipeline of leading A-share, AI and high-technology companies filing for Hong Kong listings.

Vivian Chow, BDO Director of Risk Advisory Services and Herman Tsui, BDO Principal of Risk Advisory Services were invited to speak at the third session of The Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies Director Training Series 2026 on the topic of “Building sustainable governance for the evolving virtual asset landscape" on 25 June 2026. Vivian and Herman discussed Hong Kong digital taxonomy, virtual assets regulatory roadmap, board-level governance framework for VA adoption, key oversight areas, and practical tools for boards. They also shared case studies on successes and failures, and provided some key takeaways to the audience.
