We were delighted to host the webinar, “Sustainability Reimagined: Turning Today’s Challenges into Tomorrow’s Opportunities”, bringing together practical insights on navigating today’s evolving ESG landscape.

Our Advisory Services Principal, Plato Wong, shared perspectives on key sustainability challenges and the ESG compliance environment, and outlined how organisations can move from insight to ex*****on through our “Sustainability Officer as a Service” approach.

We were also pleased to have Bill Zhang, Director, Greater China Corporate Engagement, S&P Global Sustainable1, share insights on the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), and Sherman Chung, Senior Manager, Greater China Sales, S&P Global Ratings, who introduced the Climate Transition Assessment (CTA) framework and its role in assessing readiness for a low-carbon future.

The session reinforced that sustainability is no longer a compliance exercise, but a strategic priority for long-term value creation.

Our sincere thanks to Bill and Sherman for joining us as speakers and sharing their valuable expertise.

Last week, our Managing Director, Helen Tang, and Transaction Services Managing Director, Kenneth Ma, joined the "Hong Kong’s First Five-Year Plan: Consultation & Exchange for the accounting industry" hosted by Dr Hon Webster NG Kam-wah, JP, Legislative Council Member (Accountancy).

The session brought together 18 organisations across the profession — including representatives from the Legislative Council, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, accounting firms, professional groups, and the wider business community — to share forward-looking, practical recommendations.

Discussion focused on how Hong Kong can further leverage its international professional services strengths to support the country’s overall development, including helping mainland enterprises “go global” and deepening the opening up of CEPA service trade.

We also contributed views and on-the-ground experience across key themes such as accounting and audit, taxation, financing, risk management, compliance, cross-border payments and talent mobility.

Thank you to Webster for the invitation and for facilitating an open and constructive dialogue. We look forward to staying closely engaged and supporting policy development that creates more growth opportunities for Hong Kong’s accounting profession.

The Moore Advisory team successfully hosted an internal AI Bootcamp on 7 May, bringing together colleagues across different service lines to align AI strategy and accelerate digital transformation.

This intensive programme was designed to strengthen core technical capabilities while driving practical business impact. It combined strategic direction with hands-on learning, covering LLM applications, prompt engineering and essential supporting skills. Participants also explored tailored AI action plans across service lines, including Valuation, GRI, ESG and Cybersecurity, alongside practical guidance on AI data compliance, cybersecurity and responsible usage.

Throughout the session, colleagues engaged actively in interactive discussions, collaborative workshops and real-world applications. The Bootcamp not only enhanced practical AI capabilities but also provided clear, actionable roadmaps for integrating AI into day-to-day operations and client solutions.

Importantly, the programme strengthened collaboration within the Advisory team, aligned our AI development direction, and reinforced our commitment to innovation and operational excellence.

As we continue to advance our AI journey, Moore Hong Kong remains focused on embedding digital capabilities across all service lines, enabling smarter workflows, and delivering forward-thinking, high-quality solutions to support our clients’ evolving needs.

Delighted to share that Tony Yeung, our Assurance Director, attended the HKICPA Young Members Homecoming Night yesterday — a special occasion celebrating 15 remarkable years of the Young Members community.

As a member of the HKICPA Young Members Committee, Tony also contributed to this signature event as part of the organising working group. He was honoured to support the working group in bringing this meaningful celebration to life.

The evening provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with peers, recognise the continued growth of the community, and reflect on the importance of nurturing the next generation of professionals within the accounting industry.

At Moore Hong Kong, we are proud to support our people in actively contributing to the profession and shaping its future through leadership, collaboration and community engagement.

Here’s to many more milestones ahead for the Young Members community and its inspiring network of professionals.

In the week of 13 April, our Managing Director, Helen Tang, joined the delegation of the “Prominent Hong Kong Business Leaders’ Chongqing Tour” as part of her role as a Council Member of the Hong Kong Public Interest Entity Auditors Association, participating in a research and exchange visit to the Jiangbeizui Accounting Industry Park.

During the visit, the Party Leadership Group and the Deputy Director of the Municipal Finance Bureau shared insights into Chongqing’s accelerated development as an inland opening up hub and a western financial centre, with growing demand for cross border investment, overseas listings and international operations. As a trusted “link of credit” in the market economy, Hong Kong — and the accounting profession in particular — plays a vital role in supporting enterprises “going global.”

The delegation also visited leading robotics and electric vehicle manufacturers, as well as a waste to energy facility, witnessing first hand the strong synergy between national policies, local implementation and technology driven innovation, and the expanding opportunities this creates for the profession.
