“Ask with curiosity — you never know who you’re talking to.” ✨

During a Women in Business Bootcamp in Ubud, we visited a beautiful traditional Balinese home. The guide mentioned it belonged to the local royal family.

Thanks to everything I’ve learned in BNI, I walked up (very innocently!) and asked one simple question:

“How can I help you?”

We talked, laughed, shared stories… and later discovered he was a member of Ubud’s Royal Family.
A beautiful reminder that real networking isn’t about titles — it’s about genuine connection and giving first.

Understanding People Is the Heart of Leadership

Today I had the opportunity to attend the CPA & IPA Discussion Group Christmas function, where the incredible Petris Lapis delivered a presentation that truly stayed with me.

For many years, I believed that we should treat people the way we want to be treated.
But Petris shared a powerful shift in perspective:

👉 Treat people the way they want to be treated.

It sounds simple — but it’s transformational.
We all have different personalities, communication styles, and needs. When we learn to see others through their own lens, relationships become stronger, conversations become easier, and collaboration becomes natural.

This is what great leadership looks like.
It’s not about changing who we are — it’s about understanding others, honouring their personality, and adapting with empathy.

I’m so inspired by Petris — not only for the knowledge she shares, but for the way she communicates with warmth, clarity and heart. She is a powerful voice for conscious leadership, emotional intelligence, and supporting people to work better together.

✨ A very personal reflection ✨

When my mum passed away, I was 20 and my brother was 18. Life suddenly forced us to make choices.

I chose to move to Australia and build the life I have now. My brother, on the other hand, struggled and fell into drugs. It’s been a roller coaster—full of tears, guilt, and nights of asking myself, “What if I had been there for him?”

But over the years, I’ve learned something important:
👉 You can love someone deeply.
👉 You can want the best for them with all your heart.
👉 You can try to help.

But at the end of the day, we are each responsible for our own choices.
We each have to take action for ourselves.

Whether in life or in finances—no one can do it for you.
You have to search for the answers.
You have to make the decision.
You have to take the step.

Two people can be given the same opportunity… but the outcome depends on what each one chooses to do with it.

So today, my reminder is this: your future is in your hands.
Don’t wait for someone else to carry you there. 🌟

I had the honour of attending a beautiful fundraising gala organised by the Westside Community Centre in Springfield, supporting the incredible work of Transformations, a foundation that provides life-changing support to both men and women in need. 💛
