As part of the COFP Women’s Day initiative on 11 March 2026, Deepesh Mehta conducted an interactive session titled “Housie Quizy Prizey.”

The session introduced financial literacy through a fun housie-style format where participants explored concepts around mutual funds, investing, and personal finance. Instead of a traditional lecture, the activity encouraged learning through participation and conversation. The room was filled with energy and enthusiasm as participants actively engaged in the quiz and discussions, creating a lively and memorable learning environment.

Session highlights:

• Housie-style quiz simplifying mutual fund and investment concepts

• Encouraged active participation and curiosity around finance

• Created a lively and engaging learning environment

The session reinforced an important idea that understanding money is a vital life skill, and financial literacy grows stronger when learning is interactive, inclusive, and enjoyable. Initiatives like these continue to encourage more individuals, especially women, to engage confidently with their financial journeys.

Empowering women with financial knowledge is a step toward greater confidence and independence.

Representing the Financial Planning Standards Board India, Ms. Amisha Sethi, Sr. VP – Policy & Communication at FPSB India, spoke on “The Power of the 6 Fs: The New Woman’s Code.”

Her session reflected on how the modern woman is no longer defined by expectations but confidently defines the equation herself.

Through the concept of the 6 Fs, she highlighted key qualities that represent the spirit of today’s women:

• Financially empowered – taking control of one’s financial future and decisions

• Free-hearted – living with authenticity, openness, and independence

• Flamboyant in expression – embracing individuality and confidence

• Fearless in spirit – pursuing opportunities and challenges with courage

• Fabulous at every age – celebrating growth and self-worth at every stage of life

• Fierce about one’s dreams – staying determined and unapologetic about ambitions

The session offered a powerful reminder that empowerment today is about women shaping their own paths, making bold choices, and creating meaningful impact in every space they step into.

As part of the COFP Women’s Day initiative on 11th March 2026, Anita Reddy delivered an insightful session on “The Architecture of Resilience.”

Session on The Architecture of Resilience

• Resilience can be built intentionally. It has a structure rather than being just a personality trait.

• Daily rituals matter more than motivation. Small, consistent actions outperform occasional bursts of inspiration.

• Growth often happens at the edge of discomfort, and choosing discomfort can accelerate learning.

• Reframing thoughts from “I can’t” to “Not yet” helps navigate the messy middle of learning and progress.

• Practice creates patterns over time. The goal is consistency rather than perfection.

• Moving from certainty to curiosity can become the real turning point in any personal or professional journey.

• The key message was clear: dreams are achieved through small, persistent daily rituals practiced consistently over time.

The session reinforced a powerful idea: resilience is built, not born. And when women share their journeys, tools, and lessons openly, it empowers more women to step forward, grow confidently, and lead.

The COFP Monthly Meet on 11th March 2026 featured a thought-provoking knowledge session by Shreya Krishnan on the topic “Confidence: The Inner Kind.”
The session was part of COFP’s Women’s Day initiative, with accomplished women leaders sharing insights from across their industries.

Session on Confidence: The Inner Kind

• Confidence is not something we are born with. It is acquired and often shaped by experiences between the ages of 4 and 10.

• Self-doubt is frequently the internalisation of someone else’s voice that we have absorbed over time.

• A simple neurological technique discussed was placing the tongue on the lower palate to instantly reduce the intensity of self-doubt.

• Gender barriers continue to exist in the professional world. Women make up around 38% of the workforce but only about 2% of CEOs, with global pay parity still projected to take more than a century.

• Women also carry a significant invisible load, including years spent worrying about safety and considerably more time invested in grooming compared to men.

• The conversation highlighted how AI and automated hiring tools can unintentionally reinforce bias, sometimes filtering out women candidates or reinforcing stereotypes.

• Patriarchal norms are often reinforced unconsciously within families, including by women themselves through traditional role expectations.

• On visibility, the session emphasised that sharing achievements should not be seen as “showing off,” but as authentic storytelling rooted in lived experiences.

• Practical tools discussed included posture, breathing techniques, visualisation, learning to say “no,” and asking trusted people to identify one’s strengths or “superpowers.”

• A key message from the session was that life skills are gender-neutral and that meaningful change begins at home by questioning everyday assumptions.

The discussion reinforced the importance of creating environments where women can build confidence, claim space, and lead conversations across industries.

The COFP Monthly Meet on 11th March 2026 at The Grand Magrath Hotel featured a knowledge session by Sharmila D Mello, Fund Manager (MF Equity) at ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, on the topic “Top-Down Investing.”

Session on Top-Down Investing

• Investing begins with understanding the big picture before moving to individual stock selection.
• A useful analogy discussed was planning a vacation by choosing the continent, then the country, then the city, and finally the hotel.
• Sector tailwinds play a significant role in performance. Even weaker companies can perform well when the sector itself is in a strong cycle.
• A structured framework for top-down investing was highlighted: global macro, country outlook, business cycle, sector, and finally stock.
• Current macro observations discussed included India being in a recovery phase, while the US remains in a growth phase.
• Real market examples included the performance of Pharma and IT during COVID, the turnaround of PSU banks, and contrarian opportunities in China and Japan.
• The session also contrasted top-down investing approaches followed by investors like Ray Dalio and Stanley Druckenmiller with the bottom-up style popularised by Warren Buffett.
• Emerging themes to watch included AI, EVs, de-dollarisation, quick commerce, and the evolving dynamics between OTT and legacy media.
• Index funds, ETFs, and Fund of Funds were discussed as natural instruments aligned with a top-down investment approach.

The session reinforced how understanding macro trends, sector cycles, and global developments can shape more informed investment decisions, while also celebrating the growing influence of women leaders driving conversations in finance and investing.

Ksh*tija Shete, a COFP member reflects on how being part of the community has supported her journey as a woman professional. With a strong peer ecosystem, a learning-first mindset, and unconditional support, COFP offers a safe space to ask questions, share challenges, gain insights, and implement them in one’s own practice. For many members, it becomes the backbone of their professional journey.

Her message to women who are unsure if they belong in financial planning is simple. If you care about helping people, guiding families, and creating meaningful impact, this profession is for you. Financial planning sits at the heart of every financial journey, and the empathy, perspective, and understanding women bring make the profession stronger and more human.

The future of financial planning needs more women, because when women step forward, families and futures grow stronger.

Shweta Goyal, a COFP member reflects on how joining the community with very little knowledge of the profession turned into an experience of constant learning, meaningful friendships, and unwavering support. While the sessions are insightful, it is the people and the spirit of collaboration that truly make the difference. Over time, COFP has come to feel less like a network and more like a family.

She also shares what makes financial planning especially rewarding as a woman. Financial planning is not just about numbers. It is also about emotional security. The natural empathy and emotional intelligence women bring often help build deeper trust and stronger connections with clients, making the work even more meaningful.

Because when financial advice is delivered with empathy, it creates not just wealth, but confidence and security for families.

Featured in this conversation is Rashmi Hingne, A COFP member, sharing how her journey into financial planning unfolded and evolved.

Her interest began with managing organisational funds, which sparked a deeper curiosity about financial decision making. That curiosity soon extended to managing her own money and her family’s finances. What drew her firmly into the industry was the ability to differentiate strong financial products from unsuitable ones and align investments with specific life stages and needs. Today, she strives to bring that same empowered and informed approach to her clients.

One of the most meaningful changes after joining COFP was a shift in her investment philosophy. Her focus moved from primarily chasing returns to building a disciplined, risk aware strategy. That perspective has strengthened the way she advises, placing long term stability and suitability at the core of every recommendation.

This Women’s Day, we celebrate women who are redefining finance with clarity, competence, and conviction.

In this video, Usha Lakshmi, a COFP member speaks honestly about a challenge many women financial planners still face, the perception that managing money is a man’s responsibility. She also shares how being part of COFP has strengthened her journey. Through active engagement with industry updates, discussions, and current developments, the community helps women professionals stay informed, build stronger client relationships, and consistently deliver high-quality advice.
