As per the amendment, Debt Funds bought from 1st April 2023 will lose Indexation Benefit on their redemption !

All Debt Funds will be deemed to be short-term, irrespective of holding period, and taxed at the investor's applicable slab rates !

Although, currently held debt funds will continue to be eligible for indexation on their redemption if held more than 36 months !

📌 Slab Rates are changed as below under New Tax Regime :
0-3L Nil
3L-6L 5%
6L-9L 10%
9L-12L 15%
12L-15L 20%
>15L 30%

📌 Standard Deduction u/s 16(ia) allowed for Salary & Pension (incl. Family Pension) upto ₹52,500/- for income equal & more than ₹15,50,000/- under New Tax Regime

📌 Highest Surcharge under New Tax Regime reduced to 25%, making the maximum surcharge now at 39%

📌 Leave Salary Encashment deduction for Non-Govt Employees increased to 25,00,000/-
