When Your Portfolio Falls 15%… What Should You Do?

Every investor faces that moment.
Markets dip.
Portfolio turns red.
Heart rate rises.
Fear whispers louder than logic.

But here’s the truth 👇

Market volatility is temporary.
Corrections are temporary.
Emotional reactions can cause permanent damage.

The best thing your Mutual Fund Distributor can do during uncertain times is not predict the market…
It is to stand beside you.
To guide you.
To prevent panic decisions.
To remind you why you started.

Because wealth is not built in comfort.
It is built in patience.

📉 Dips are temporary.
📈 Growth is permanent.
🧠 Discipline beats emotion.

This too shall pass.

New updates on Bank Nominations
(Effective Nov 1, 2025)

The old "one nominee" rule is gone! Now you can:
✅ Add up to 4 nominees to your bank accounts.
✅ Split the percentage (e.g., Spouse 50%, Child-1 25%, Child-2 25%).
✅ Choose how they get it: "Simultaneous" (all at once) or "Successive" (one after another).

Note: Lockers will only allow "Successive" nominations.

Earlier in the cases where the Nominee passes away, claiming money was a major hassle, running from courts to banks.
Now the new rules makes it easier and more systematic.

👉🏼 Action: Remember to check & update your nominations after November 1st. It's a small task that will save your loved ones a massive headache.

₹1 lakh investment = ₹4 crores
In the Nippon India Growth/Midcap Fund over 30 years.

That’s 400 times your money—with a 22% yearly return (CAGR).

But here’s the thing: there is hardly anyone who has stayed invested in this fund from 1995 till now.

In the last year, Nifty delivered around 6% returns, midcaps and smallcaps have been largely flat or negative. People are getting nervous when their portfolios show low single-digit or negative returns, as they were expecting at least 12%-15% in a year. Many have already started exiting.

Now imagine you were actually invested in this fund, you would have faced:
• 63% crash during the 2008 crisis
• 30% fall in 2010-11
• Another 30% decline in 2012-13
• Yet another 30% drop in 2015-16
• 40% crash in 2020
• 20% correction in 2022

And despite all this drama, the fund still delivered that 22% CAGR over 30 years.

Remember, Fund returns are not the same as investor returns. The fund might deliver 22%, but if you panic and pull out during the 40% crash, or if you stop your SIPs when markets fall, you’re not getting that 22%. You’re getting a tiny portion of it.

The real question isn’t whether good funds exist. They do.

The question is: do you have the mindset to stay invested when everything around you is falling apart? Most people don’t—and that’s exactly why most struggle to build serious wealth through investing.

Wealth is often the reward you get for not panicking.

Zero cost EMI's what does it actually mean?

🌟Loans usually charge interest, but *"No-Cost" or “Zero-Interest" EMIs* say there's absolutely no interest charged.
In the world of finance “interest-free" is a myth.
Somebody's has to pay — you, your bank or the company selling it.

🌟So who is paying?
Some companies tie up with banks to offer you a zero cost EMI and *bear the interest cost themselves.

For eg. You buy a laptop that costs ₹60000, & you pay 12 instalments of 5000, technically at "no-cost" to you.
Here the company has an agreement with the bank, wherein the the bank pays 55000/- for the laptop to the seller and the remaining 5000/- is kept by the bank as interest. (Approximate figures)

So this 5000/- is the cost borne by the company to acquire you as a customer, bank gets 5000/- as interest income & you get a no cost EMI. A win-win-win situation benefiting all.

Not all companies offer this, so make sure to study the EMI breakdown & check for hidden costs. Specially processing charges.

✅ EMIs are a good option if you don't want to make a huge payment upfront. Just be aware of what you're signing up for and don’t land up buying things just because you can afford the EMI.

P.S.- Most products which have zero cost EMI will offer discounts if you offer upfront payment.

❇️ Bajaj Finance was one of the 1st companies in India to use this concept on a large scale and probably that's why it's share price has gone up more than a 100 times in the last 12 years.

Bloomberg to add India to its emerging markets bond index from January 31, 2025.

Inflows to India’s bond market likely to increase manifold, global allocators will start looking more closely towards India & it will probably have a positive effect on our currency. 😍🔥
A good time to look at boring 10 year Gilt Funds (govt securities) and longer duration bonds/debt funds.
Risk reward seems very favourable for the next 1-2 years.

Just a view (NOT investment advice) due your own due diligence before investing.
