SBI Bank Account Holders: Important Update from 1st October 2026! 🚨

State Bank of India (SBI) has revised the cash withdrawal charges for Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) Accounts opened through the Branch Channel, effective 1st October 2026.

As per the official SBI notice:

🔹 First 4 cash withdrawals in a month – FREE
🔹 Cash withdrawals beyond the first 4 – ₹15 + GST per transaction
🔹 ₹15 + 18% GST = ₹17.70 per transaction

Importantly, SBI states that cash withdrawal transactions include withdrawals through multiple modes, such as:

• Bank Branch
• ATM
• Micro-ATM
• AEPS (Aadhaar Enabled Payment System)
• CASH@POS
• And other applicable cash withdrawal modes

For example, if you make 8 cash withdrawal transactions in a month, the first 4 will be free, while the remaining 4 will attract the applicable charge of ₹15 + GST per transaction.

The SBI notice also clearly states that digital transfer transactions carried out by customers through UPI, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, POS, etc., will continue to remain FREE.

📌 Effective Date: 1st October 2026
📌 Applicable To: Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) Accounts opened through the Branch Channel
📌 Free Cash Withdrawals: First 4 per month
📌 Beyond 4: ₹15 + GST per cash withdrawal transaction

This update is specifically about cash withdrawal transactions under the applicable BSBD account category. It should not be interpreted as a general charge on every SBI account or on digital money transfers.

Every year, scammers take advantage of major festivals and special occasions like Independence Day to send fake WhatsApp messages, gift offers, cashback claims, free recharge offers, and fake government schemes.

These messages may contain phishing links or malicious APK files. Once you click the link or install an unknown APK, scammers may try to steal your personal information, banking details, OTPs, passwords, or gain access to your phone.

In some scams, you may be redirected to a fake website that looks like an official government or company website. You may then be asked to enter your mobile number, Aadhaar details, bank details, UPI information, or other sensitive data.

⚠️ How to stay safe:

• Never click on unknown or suspicious links received through WhatsApp or SMS.
• Never install APK files received through WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, or unknown websites.
• Do not share your OTP, UPI PIN, ATM PIN, passwords, or banking details with anyone.
• Do not trust messages claiming that you have won a free gift, cash reward, free data, or government benefit without verification.
• Always verify such offers through the organisation’s official website or verified social media accounts.
• If you receive a suspicious message, do not forward it to others.

Independence Day scams are not just a theoretical risk. Similar scams using Independence Day, “Har Ghar Tiranga,” fake government rewards, free data offers, and malicious APK files have been reported in previous years.

Stay alert. Think before you click. 🇮🇳

🚨 LPG e-KYC Deadline: August 16, 2026

If you have an Indane Gas, Bharat Gas or HP Gas LPG connection and your Aadhaar e-KYC is still pending, this update is important.

Oil marketing companies have asked eligible LPG consumers to complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC. If the required e-KYC is not completed, you may face issues with domestic-rate LPG cylinders until the verification is completed.

⚠️ Important: This does NOT mean that every LPG connection will automatically be permanently cancelled after August 16. The exact consequence can depend on your LPG company and connection status.

How to complete LPG e-KYC online?

You can generally complete face-based e-KYC using two apps:

🔵 Indane Gas: IndianOil ONE + Aadhaar FaceRD
🟠 Bharat Gas: Hello BPCL + Aadhaar FaceRD
🟢 HP Gas: HP Pay + Aadhaar FaceRD

# # # Basic process:

1️⃣ Open your LPG company's official app and log in with your registered mobile number.

2️⃣ Find the e-KYC / Re-KYC option.

3️⃣ Enter/verify the required LPG and Aadhaar details and provide consent.

4️⃣ Select the face authentication option.

5️⃣ The Aadhaar FaceRD app will be used for Aadhaar face authentication.

6️⃣ Follow the instructions and complete the face scan.

7️⃣ After successful authentication, check your LPG app/account for the updated KYC status.

📌 Important: Aadhaar FaceRD is generally a supporting app. You don't normally complete LPG KYC by opening FaceRD separately. The LPG company's app triggers FaceRD during the face-authentication process.

If you don't want to do the process online, you can also approach your authorised LPG distributor or use the verification facility provided by your LPG company.

Does everyone need to do e-KYC again?

If your required e-KYC has already been completed and your LPG account shows the verification as successful, you generally don't need to repeat it just because of this deadline.
