𝗖𝗦𝗥 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 — 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗦𝗥

The Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2025 proposes reducing the CSR applicability limits to:

𝗡𝗲𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 ₹𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲, 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 ₹𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲, 𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 ₹𝟯 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲.

This means many more companies will now be required to constitute a CSR Committee and undertake mandatory CSR spending.

For society, this could translate into significantly higher CSR contributions toward development, sustainability and community welfare.

A simple threshold change, but with wide impact.
