The Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2025 proposes reducing the CSR applicability limits to:
๐ก๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ต ๐ผ๐ณ โน๐ญ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ, ๐๐๐ฟ๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ผ๐ณ โน๐ฑ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ, ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ถ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ โน๐ฏ ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ.
This means many more companies will now be required to constitute a CSR Committee and undertake mandatory CSR spending.
For society, this could translate into significantly higher CSR contributions toward development, sustainability and community welfare.
A simple threshold change, but with wide impact.
