It’s heartening to see such a strong emphasis on accessibility and the emotional needs of people with disabilities. The Supreme Court and the Chief Justice of India’s (CJI) recognition of these issues is a significant step forward. By highlighting that the real barriers are societal structures and not the disabilities themselves, they are advocating for a more inclusive and accessible environment for everyone.

Ensuring accessibility is indeed a fundamental human right, and it’s crucial for enhancing participation and inclusion in society. This verdict reinforces the importance of creating environments that accommodate all individuals, allowing them to build relationships and fully engage in community life.

PSNSpecialCal - a Calculator created exclusively for special needs children families. Here you can input your figures and the calculator will tell you how much money you require for your special needs child care.

Here is how it works :

The figures you need to input :

Inflation - The annual rise in expenses for your child

Rate of Return- The annual growth of this money when invested

Life Expectancy - The total numbers of years your child expected to live

Expenses- If Not calculated assume expenses as per the sections given. Some of these you will be aware while some you might have to monitor and then identify. Till then assume to the best of your knowledge.

Annual Income- If you expect any income directly in the name of your child

Assets- The value of assets you have already accumulated or will leave for your child at your death. This will also include any insurance you would have bought.

Output

Now the calculator tells you the amount of money required for your child care for his or her lifetime. This is the money you should have today. If not you need to plan to bridge the shortfall. The calculator also gives you corpus for perpetual income which is the bare mimimum corpus you need to have for your child. Anything below this you are not prepared financially then.
