Shareholder and Director may sound like similar roles.
But they are not the same thing.
A shareholder holds shares in the company and may have certain rights attached to those shares.
A director serves on the Board and has governance and legal responsibilities.
And yes, one person can be both.
What’s important to understand is:
Holding shares alone doesn’t give someone management authority.
And simply being a director doesn’t automatically mean they own shares.
It sounds like a small difference, but it matters a lot when businesses start dealing with shareholding, voting and Board decisions.
We’ve broken it down simply in the carousel.
