Government will discuss about waving GST late fees in the next GST Council Meeting. The professionals and industry should make proper representation with following points.

1. Requesting late fee waiver is not the solution.

2. The law should be streamlined permanently to avoid such requests which are happening on continuous basis.

3. Late fee amount should be in consonance with the net cash liability of that particular return period.

4. Maximum limit of late fee should be fixed. It cannot be infinite based on number of days of delay.

- Income tax AOs will ask for GSTR-2A
- Entries in GSTR-2A will also have to be explained in Income Tax Assessments
- Unrelated , unreconciled entries in GSTR-2A can be a challenge.
