A gentle reminder for the final installment of Advance Tax for Financial Year 2025–26 (Assessment Year 2026–27) is due on or before 15th March 2026.

Taxpayers are required to ensure that 100% of their total estimated tax liability for the financial year is paid by this date to avoid interest under sections 234B and 234C of the Income-tax Act.

We request you to kindly review your income position and arrange for payment of any balance advance tax at the earliest.

Currently no confirmed extension for audit report deadline; it remains 30 September 2025. But due to genuine practical difficulties being cited, there is a strong chance an extension may be granted. Better to prepare in advance and stay alert for the official update.

However, stakeholders have raised serious concerns and requested an extension. Key reasons include:

1. Persistent delays & frequent schema / utility changes in the e-filing portal.

2. Glitches in validation, prefilled data mismatches, server issues, etc.

3. Natural disruptions (e.g. floods, electricity/internet disruptions) in some parts of the country.

What to do now:

=>CA firms and taxpayers should monitor announcements from CBDT / Income Tax Department for any formal extension.

=>Meanwhile, begin compiling audit reports as per existing schedules & updated forms so as to avoid last-minute rush & errors.

=>Keep documentation ready (financial statements, disclosures under the new format, reconciliations for AIS / TDS, etc.).

=>In case extension is granted, ensure filings are accurate & compliant to avoid notices or penalties.
