The article highlights five key issues that can hold up Income Tax refunds, including mismatches in tax records, pending e-verification, an inoperative PAN, adjustment against outstanding tax demands, and incorrect bank account details.

The article emphasizes the importance of keeping bank account details updated on the Income Tax portal, promptly responding to notices from the Income Tax Department, and taking timely action on rectifications or appeals, wherever required, to help ensure refunds are processed without unnecessary delays.
