“Your salary is high.” This is often said when work is evaluated not by productivity or outcomes delivered, but by hours spent.
Recently, I observed a senior finance professional spending 2 full days (and still continuing on Day 3) manually typing PAN and Aadhaar numbers from a large folder of documents.

I recently came across the interview journey of a finance professional, which highlights how important clear communication is in recruitment.

She was approached on **2nd September** for the role of **Head of Finance & Accounts** at *SuperZop – Khetika*. The job description clearly mentioned **CA/CMA preferred** as the qualification. Being a qualified **CMA**, her profile was shortlisted.

* She attended multiple interview rounds.
* She was asked to provide documents such as employment proofs, bank statements, and references for verification, which she did.
* The recruiter even followed up regularly to confirm she was not joining anywhere else.

However, after the third round with the Director, the feedback given was:

> *“Not selected – Not a CA & does not fit the broader profile.”*

This raises an important question:

* Vandana’s resume already stated her CMA qualification.
* It was discussed during interviews.
* It was visible in document verification.

If CMA was not acceptable, why was she shortlisted, interviewed multiple times, and asked for personal documents?

This is not to criticize, but to emphasize a larger point — **candidates’ time and privacy deserve respect, and transparency upfront is a hallmark of professional hiring practices.**
