A common misconception among taxpayers is that if there is no TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) deducted from their income, the income is completely tax-free.
As highlighted in the image.png below, “No TDS doesn’t mean no tax.” 🛑
Many income sources still need to be reported and may be taxable, including:
Savings account interest
Fixed Deposit (FD) interest
Recurring Deposit (RD) interest
Other miscellaneous interest income
Failing to report these can lead to data mismatches and unexpected tax notices from the authorities. Don’t let a simple oversight turn into a legal headache.
At Dhanani & Jain Chartered Accountants, we ensure your income reporting is accurate and compliant so you can focus on growing your business seamlessly.

🚨 Getting an Income Tax notice is every taxpayer’s nightmare—but most of them are completely avoidable.
With tax authorities leveraging data analytics and AI, inconsistencies that used to go unnoticed are now immediate red flags. Before you file your ITR, make sure you aren’t accidentally triggering an audit.
As outlined in the attached image.png, here are 7 major red flags you need to watch out for:
1️⃣ GST & ITR Turnover Mismatch: If your reported sales in your GST returns don’t align with your Income Tax Return, an automated notice is almost guaranteed.
2️⃣ Income Missing from AIS/TIS: The tax department already has data on your interest income, dividends, and stock market transactions. If it’s in your AIS/TIS but missing from your ITR, you will hear from them.
3️⃣ Large Cash Transactions: High-value cash deposits or withdrawals always raise eyebrows.
4️⃣ Unexplained Loans/Capital: Introducing fresh capital or loans into your business without a clear, verifiable source is a massive risk.
5️⃣ High Expenses Without Supporting Records: Claiming heavy deductions or business expenses without proper invoices or proof is a recipe for trouble.
6️⃣ Frequent Corrections: Constantly revising your filings with major financial changes signals poor compliance or intentional manipulation.
7️⃣ Undocumented Related-Party Transactions: Dealing with sister concerns or relatives without solid paperwork and arm’s-length pricing is an open invitation for scrutiny.
💡 The Golden Rule of Safe Tax Filing:
Always reconcile your GST, books of accounts, AIS/TIS, and bank records before hitting submit. Consistency is your best defense.
