Market Outlook: August 03 - August 07 | FundSmart
Indian markets bounced back in a big way last week. The Nifty jumped 2.59% to finish at 24,384, and the Sensex climbed 2.68% to close at 78,095.
1. RBI MPC Meeting:
The Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee meets from August 3 to 5. All eyes are on what they will say about interest rates, liquidity, and where growth is headed.
2. Q1 Results FY27:
It’s still earnings season. Big names like Bharti Airtel, SBI, LIC, ONGC, Nykaa, and Delhivery are set to announce their numbers. Management commentary could move the markets.
3. US-Iran Tensions:
Tensions remain high with the US trying to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Any escalations there could shake up global markets.
4. Crude Oil Prices:
Oil prices shot up in July, with Brent gaining about 24%. With worries about supply disruptions, crude has now become a major factor for India.
5. FII and DII Flows:
Foreign institutional investors have been net buyers for four straight sessions, and domestic institutions are buying heavily too. If this trend continues, it could give Indian stocks more fuel to run.
FundSmart's Take:
RBI policy, Q1 results, oil, geopolitical tensions, and institutional money flows are the big themes to watch this week.
