Paid-up Capital: Increased to ₹10 Crore (was ₹4 Cr)

Turnover: Increased to ₹100 Crore (was ₹40 Cr)

Getting Ready for Section 194T: An Action Plan for Firms and LLPs.

Strategic Steps for Compliance:

Review Deeds: Amend partnership/LLP deeds to clearly distinguish between profit share (exempt) and payments like remuneration/interest/commission (subject to TDS).

Implement Tracking: Set up internal systems to monitor aggregate payments to each partner for the covered categories throughout the financial year.

Watch the Timing: Remember that credit to a partner's capital account can trigger TDS, even if payment hasn't been made.

Ensure TAN: Make sure the firm has a valid Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number (TAN).

Failure to deduct TDS can lead to interest, penalties, and expense disallowances under section 40(a).
