KEPSA AND ESG MANAGEMENT SERVICES SIGN STRATEGIC MOU TO ADVANCE ESG ADOPTION AMONG KENYAN BUSINESSES

On 19 October 2026, the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) met with representatives of ESG Management Services Ltd (ESGMS) and the United Kingdom Government’s Department for Business, Innovation and Trade Office for East Africa to strengthen collaboration on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices within Kenya’s private sector. The meeting culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between KEPSA and ESG Management Services, establishing a framework through which KEPSA members can access ESG services to strengthen their sustainability practices, governance structures and investment readiness.

At the World Green Economy Summit 2026 roundtable in Dubai, KEPSA’s Dr. Jackson Koimbori joined ministers, development banks and investors to discuss turning climate commitments into projects investors can fund, with Africa-led solutions that include SMEs, women and youth. Opportunities were highlighted in renewable energy, green hydrogen, water systems, the circular economy and resilient urban development.

Speakers included H.E. Saeed Al Tayer (WGEO), H.E. Dr. Amna Al Dhahak (UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment) and H.E. Abdoulaye Daffe (West African Development Bank). Kenya’s team was supported by H.E. Ambassador Kenneth Milimo Nganga.

At the SME Conference exhibition, El Vaso Glassware showcased its functional glassware and home-use products made from discarded bottles, selling 6+ products and engaging numerous walk-ins. Through these interactions and networking, the business recorded 5+ active client conversions, and secured partnerships with restaurants and organisations that attended the conference. These opportunities are supporting the business's growth plans, including expansion to a new facility in Orly, Kajiado, to scale production and meet demand for bulk orders.

The CESIP validation workshop takes place on 27 October, ahead of the strategy launch on 5th November 2026. Written comments on the draft strategy can be submitted until 27th October through the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry.
