Audit documentation should clearly show:

What was selected.
Which assertion was tested.
What procedure was performed.
What evidence was inspected.
What result was obtained.

Keep stronger support for exceptions, material items, unusual transactions and major conclusions.

Audit evidence is about proving the work — not measuring the thickness of the file.

Sampling reduces the work.

Exceptions can increase it.

With an Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUP) Engagement, specific records, transactions or balances are checked based on procedures agreed in advance.

Suitable for reviewing:

Sales collections and banking
Project funds
Payroll and commissions
Supplier payments
Stock or selected assets

For SMEs relying heavily on Facebook, Google, TikTok or other overseas platforms, advertising cost may not always be a simple marketing expense.

Before claiming, review who was paid, the nature of payment, whether WHT applies, and whether the expense is properly supported.

Boost sales, but don’t boost tax risk. 😉

Not too much until cash flow suffers.
