Time truly flies when you’re passionate about what you do! After 18 years of nurturing young minds as a secondary school teacher, I took a bold leap into the unknown, embracing a mid-life career change to join the insurance industry. According to the lunar calendar, Li Chun 立春 is the date that officially marks the start of spring, and it falls almost a week earlier than the Gregorian calendar’s Chinese New Year celebration on 10 February. Farmers in the old days would conduct ceremonies on Li Chun 立春 to pray for a bountiful harvest when they sow their first seeds of the year, but as societies moved away from agriculture, this practice evolved into “sowing” cash in bank accounts.
