If you’re feeling guilty about procrastination, here’s what I’ve learned about how to make dreadful tasks more effortless.
We often get overwhelmed by everyday tasks (or in this case every year task - filing personal income tax) because we spend so much of mental energy thinking about the whole process to submit our entire personal income tax filing.
When completing a task = step 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. and became too much for our brain to handle, we tend to procrastinate it.
What if we focus on, what is the first step to do right now? And just “Name The First Obvious Step”.
In order to file personal income tax, what is the first obvious step to take right now?
It could be accessing the LHDN mytax portal.. or opening your EA/CP58 form.. or downloading your insurance annual statement can also be it..
It is literally at your fingertips and more often than not, the next step will be clear and easy to accomplish after we have taken the first obvious step - “What Is The Next Obvious Step?”
Before you even realise it, you could have completed filing your personal income tax already.
If submitting your personal income tax is something you’d like to clear off your to-do-list asap but you keep on procrastinating, hope this guide helps!
And if there are more things that you’re procrastinating, hope the “Name The First Obvious Step” concept helps.
Here’s a summary for you in case of TL:DR!
1. Log in to your AIA+ app
2. Look for “Statements & Letters”
3. Make sure you’re at the “Policy Statements” tab
4. Select your name and year (of assessment)
5. You will be able to see all your AIA policies at a glance
6. Download and save to your drive/folder for future reference
