*Adamawa MCPD to Deepen Members' Proficiency in Climate Change and Sustainability Reporting — ANAN President*
The President of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Chief Hajia Zuwairat Talatu Kishimi, has said the Association's professional training programme in Adamawa State will address critical gaps in sustainability reporting.
She stated this during an interview on Usaku 90.5FM, Yola on 12th October, 2026 ahead of the 5th Session of ANAN Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) programme in the state.
The President said the MCPD theme, "Climate Change and Sustainability Reporting" was informed by the need to enhance professional accountants' knowledge and skills in new and emerging trends in climate change and sustainability reporting.
She asserted that the training will strengthen accountants' capacity to track, and report Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and impact while driving compliance with global standards.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of ANAN, Dr. Titus Gandu Obadiah, said the MCPD is mandatory for membership revalidation and competence in enabling members expertise in administrative, advisory, and supervisory roles.
He noted that the rapid changes in climate conditions necessitate environmental accounting in assessing the impact of environmental degradation and upholding responsive and responsible engagements by public and private sector organisations.
